Notes for Release 6.0.02.0

hpCommerce Orion Release Notes

Build 6.0.02.0

Released May 4, 2019

New Features and Functionality

  • Consolidate Two Parts together
Just what you have been waiting for!  The ability to combine all of the history and information for two parts together.  This is a great tool to deal with situations where two identical parts with different part numbers get created in sold before you realize that you have a duplicate.  Using this new tool will combine the sales and purchasing history of one part into another part.  Additional information is also intelligently combined too.  The Part Consolidation tool is on [L].

  • Dates on Purchase Orders can now be controlled
You can now adjust the date of a Purchase Order.  You can also adjust the date of an inventory receiving.  This gives you the control to catch up on paperwork after the fact.  Let's say you don't have time to immediately update Orion with receiving information on inventory that you have gotten in.  Now you can receive this inventory when you have time and adjust the date to reflect when you actually processed the receipt.  To control if these types of dates can be adjusted go to [S-F6-F3] and set "Allow Editing of Document Dates".

  • New Combined Export/Import file format is available
You asked for it, we have provided it!  This new format combines the current HP Import format and the Rich Product Data Import format and adds many new data fields too.  Now you can export and import just about all of your valuable product data including just about all eCommerce type data.  These new tools are located at [M-N-5] and [M-N-B].  If you are in charge of data maintenance in Orion using these new tools is a must.  To learn more click HERE and HERE.

  • New Part Label format
A new label format for part labels is available.  It is label #14 - 1.5 x 3.5 inches and is formatted for printing on a Dymo LabelWriter 450.

Improvements to existing Features

  • Generic Stock Feeds can now be Emailed
The very powerful and profit building Generic Stock Feed can now be set up to email to a recipient along with also being able to be FTPed too.  This amazing tool for manufacturers, OEM's and distributors builds your sales and profits by automatically getting stock status information to your network of customers.  They can buy from confidence from you knowing exactly what you have in stock.  If you have a distribution network or are a manufacture and you are not using this tool you will see an instant bump in sales if you start using it.

  • Product Categories can now be Mass Purged and Exported
Product Categorizations are for categorizing parts into multiple categories.  This data is then pushed automatically to a Yellow Hat Web website.  You can now do a mass purge of a category.  You can also export all of the parts that are categorized under a specific category.  These tools are all found under [S-C].

  • eBay and Amazon Integrations will automatically Reset and Restart on System Restart.

  • A new system for tracking original Customer PO Numbers via the Backorder system is now available
Prior to this update the original customer PO Numbers were tracked via an item's Long Description field.  This has been changed so that there is a dedicated data field to track this information.  This allows you to turn off the printing of Long Description information on Sales Orders and Invoices and still see the original customer PO Number information for backordered information.

  • Box Sizes can now be scanned into Integrated Shipping
It is now possible to define a default box size and to scan in box sizes when processing a shipment via the integrated shipping system.  This dramatically accelerates the process of supplying box dimensions at the time of shipment label creation.

  • Out of Stock message is now turned off if item is dropshipping on an order
If an item is marked as dropshipping or an order is marked as dropshipping messages regarding the stocking status of an item will no longer be displayed.

  • Picklist Sorting Defaults can now be set and new sort option added
You can now set the default sort order for a Picklist via [S-F7-F4] Pick Sheet Default Sort Order.  PLC and Partnumber can now be selected as a sort order too.

  • The Generic Stock Feed [S-5-F7] now supports sending data to SFTP sites.

  • Generic Stock Feed setups [S-5-F7] can now be configured to deduct open backorder amounts from the "available" quantity being sent via the stock feed.
