New Features and Functionality

  • New tools to help HP Support help you - Ability to send Log
    Now you can use a tool in Orion to send a copy of your current log to HP Support.  This is a quick way of getting this valuable log data to support if needed.  You can send your current Orion log data by using [F1-G-F1] Send Log to Support.  Use this tool if asked by HP Support.

  • Orion's license info can now be sent to HP Support
    To streamline issuance of new Activation Codes you can now send license information to HP Support with one-click by using [S-F1-F1] Send Info to Support.  If asked by HP Support this is a quick and easy way of sending this information.

  • Ability to start a Sales Order from a Quote
    Orion's highly flexible Quotation System has been further enhanced to allow you to start a new Sales Order directly from many different Quotes forms such as [M-Q-F3] by using the dashboard option [S] - SO from Quote.  Once you select this feature you have powerful options that you can use:
    • Duplicate for the Same Customer? (this would work just like how duplicating an invoice works)
    • Update Pricing for Current or Selected Customer? (this would work just like how duplicating an invoice works)
    • Keep or Remove the Selected Quote?
    • Do you want to Open the created Sales Order? (this would work just like how duplicating an invoice works).
    • It will copy all of the respective "header" fields from the Quote to the newly created Sales Order. PO, Ship Via, Ref Info, Job #, Dept, and Event

  • New Gift Card System
    Orion now has its own, built in, Gift Card System.  This system replaces Orion's old system that relied upon the Visa and MasterCard networks to operate.  Now you have complete control over your gift card service.  You can acquire your own gift cards or use plain paper gift cards too.  Here is a summary of the amazing features of this new Orion Gift Card system, it has never been so easy to offer a gift card service to your customers:
    • Buy pre-printed gift cards from any source.  They cards would have no denomination on them and would have either a magnetic strip or a barcode or both to identify them.
    • OR simple have Orion print gift cards for you to plain paper.  Orion will print an attractive gift card for you that is readable by Orion via a pre-printed barcode (or you can hand type in the card number into Orion).
    • Issue and recharge gift cards as needed.
    • Perform balance inquires.
    • Re-issue lost or damaged cards as needed
    • Cancel/Write-off cards as needed.
    • Many easy to use reports to manage your gift card service

  • New Item Label Added - Avery 5195
    This is sheet of labels.  Each sheet can hold 60 labels.  In Orion this is label #26.  Orion has great support for product label printing.  You have close to thirty different label formats to choose from and Dymo and Zebra label printers are supported.

  • New Image Import tool
    A new data import feature that is dedicated to importing multiple images for one item at once has been added.  This is import [M-N-F7] Item Images.  The import accepts an Excel file that has just three columns of data:  PLC, Partnumber and Image.

Improvements to existing Features

  • eBay International Order Handling
    Orion's excellent, optional eBay integration has been enhanced to recognize international orders and properly deal with any applied VAT.

  • AR, Deposits and Inventory Valuation Reports now stored Daily
    Orion now automatically runs and stores these reports on a daily basis.  Previously these reports were only ran and automatically stored monthly.  The reports are stored in PDF and Excel formats and are stored on the main Orion computer in the location C:\ProgramData\hpCommerce\Reports.  If you need to obtain the AR, Deposits or Inventory Valuation balances for any given date you can now reference these stored history files as needed.

  • Primary Accounting Reports updated with Date Range and Printed Date/Time
    All reports in the [M-L-F4-F11] Business Activity Summary report package have been updated to display the date range for the report in the header.  The date and time the report is printed is now included in the footer.  The look of this header and footer information has been standardized across all reports.  This change makes it very clear what data is covered by a report and when the report was produced.
