New Features and Functionality

• View Quotes from Customer Management
  Finally!  It is now possible to view a customer's quotes from the Customer Management form.  After locating your customer in Customer Management [G] you can press [8] Quotes to view and work with quotes for the selected customer.  You can even add a new quote from this form and run the excellent Quote Analysis too.
  
  
• Edit Cost of Item Sold during Sales Order Creation
  You can now turn on an option to allow you to edit the cost of an item at the time that you are selling it.  This allows you to "permanently" store the cost that you want with a sold item.  Even if the current Average Cost of the item is different or if you use any cost recalculation tools on an open sales order this edited cost with stick.
  • When editing a line item on an order you can press [Shift-F5] to open the Cost Editing dialog.  You can use this dialog to set the cost and to clear the "fixed" cost too.
  • If you have set a "fixed" cost then this cost will not be overridden when you use tools like the Update Cost feature on [M-G-F6] Open Orders listing.
    
    
• List Price Invoice format now supported by Quotes and Sales Orders
  Your document format settings for these three documents are now all shared.  Set them once and you will have the same document features applied to the printed versions of invoices, quotes and sales orders.

Improvements to existing Features

• Control Filling of Back Orders via [L-R] Receive Parts into Inventory
  You are now asked if you want to fill back orders when you receive inventory via [L-R].  This allows you to use the back order system and yet still control the allocation of inventory that you receive.
  
  
• Combined Data Import [M-N-B] and Export [M-N-5] are now in Excel's XLXS format
  To allow for simpler editing and creation and to accommodate larger these import/export tools now support Excel's XLSX format.  XLS format is supported too.
  
  
• Item Vendor Data Export now supports exporting HUGE data files
  A modification has been made to how this file is created by the option [M-N-F5] Export Item Vendor Data.  This modification allows huge files to be exported from Orion.
  
  
• Creating a Quote from a Sales Order - More options to control what happens next
  You can now control what happens after you create a Quote from a Sales Order.  This is done via the [F1] Quit/Hold Ticket Option when [Q] Save as Quote is selected.  Options have been added to [S-F7-F3] Invoice Preferences to allow you to control the following:

  • Added an option that says "Print Preview Quote after creation from POS". Options are NO (default), YES or ASK.

  • Added an option that says "Open Quote after creation from POS". Options are NO (default), YES or ASK.

  • If the Print Preview options are set to YES or ASK then the Open Quote option is not available and is ignored.  Likewise if the Open Quote options are set to YES or ASK then the Print Preview option is not available and is ignored.
    
    

• Part Quantities can now be maintained for items listed on a Network Solutions website
  Orion's optional Network Solutions eCommerce integration can now automatically maintain quantity available for items listed on the website.
