New Features and Functionality

  • Yellow Hat Web Integration New Upload Feature - an option has been added to the Yellow Hat Web integration configuration that allows you to indicate that only items that have an image, categorization and dimensional data will be uploaded to your Yellow Hat Web website.  This is an extremely convenient way of making sure that only items that have the minimum ecommerce data are uploaded to your site.  This option can be found at [M-E-Y-2].
  • New Full Featured Notes Editor - an amazing new editor has been added to Orion for editing notes.  These are notes like Customer Notes, Item Memos, the Invoice, Sales Order and Purchase Order footer.  This editor is full featured and allows you to spell check your text.  You an format your text with color, select different font sizes and types and add items like tables, bullets and numbered lists to your notes.  This new editor allows you use color and different size fonts to draw attention to important notes.  The spell checker keeps you out of trouble too.


Improvements to existing Features

  • Motor State Purchasing Integration - a bunch of enhancements have been made to this system to make it even more amazing than it already is.  Below is a summary.  To learn more about this fantastic integration view our video series HERE:
    • The last date and time that Orion automatically checks Motor State for tracking data has been added to the service configuration form.  This form can be found at [S-5-6].  You can go to this form at any time to understand the last time that Orion checked Motor State for updates.
    • Form Titles on the Purchase Menu [M-S] have been updated to be consistent with their function and their named options on the [M-S] menu.  This consistency helps with the usability of Orion.
    • The Validate Item option has been added to the Build PO from SO form.  This allows you to validate an item against Motor State when you are considering building a PO for Motor State.  This further enhances the amazing PO from SO feature of Orion.  To learn more about this feature see our video series HERE.
    • The Check Motor State option has been enhanced to include the exact quantity available and to display your cost.  The enhanced version of this feature is only available if you have the Motor State Purchasing Integration enabled.
    • Ability to Build a PO in Orion from a Motor State Order Number - WOW!  This is an absolutely unbelievable feature.  This allows you to create an order in Motor State's Price Guide Pro and to import that order into Orion.  All you have to know is your Motor State Order Number.  Once the order is imported into Orion all you have to do is to receive the order once it arrives.  To import an order use [M-S-C-I] or [M-S-W-I].  To learn more about how to use this feature see this video HERE.  Here are some additional notes about this enhancement:
      • When an order is imported the freight and tracking data for the order is also imported.
      • You can turn on an option for Orion to automatically create any new items in Orion's Part Maintenance system as part of the importing process.  As part of this process Orion sets Price Level A to Motor State's Suggested Selling Price.  You can turn this feature ON and OFF via [S-5-6].
  • Customer Vehicle System - it is now possible to edit a customer's list of vehicles directly from the Sales Order form.  This makes it easy to make corrections and additions to a customer's vehicles while you are working with a customer's order.  To get started with Customer Vehicles open option [V] while viewing a customer via the Customer Management form [G].
  • Generic Stock Feed Service, a new export option has been added - This service a dream tool for manufactures.  It allows you to automatically send a stock status feed to any one you want to either daily or once every XX minutes.  A new export option has been added to this service.  The configuration options allow you to select from one of two different formats.  To get started with this system visit [S-5-F7] in Orion.
  • Inventory Adjustment Journal can now be run for just one item.  This is a quick way of seeing everything that has happened to an item by the way of adjustments.  This option can be run for an item via the [L-L] Part Maintenance form by going to [F5-I].
