Notes for Release 10.0.17

hpCommerce Orion Release Notes

Build 10.0.17

Released May 15, 2025

New Features and Functionality

  • You can now specify Use Taxes at the Product Line Level
You can now specify Use Taxes at the Product Line Level.  This is done via [L-B-U].  This dramatically reduces the effort to maintain Use Tax if the taxes apply to all items in a given line.

  • New 12 Month Sales by Manufacture PLC Report
This new report is located at [M-L-F1-6].  If you specify Manufacture PLC's on Part Maintenance [L-L] you can now report by this value.  This allows you to report at the line level by a different PLC than what you sell items by.  This is very useful if you package and sell multiple private lines that are all manufactured by the same company.  This report will consolidate sales across many lines into one Manufacture line.

  • New Surge Pricing Feature
This is amazing!  You can now set surge pricing parameters at the system or PLC level.  Use this feature to deal with high velocity fluctuations in pricing.  One of the best uses for this tool is for selling at tracks and tradeshows and swap meets where you want to easily upcharge pricing by some amount.  You can make these changes without changing your product pricing.  What a powerful tool!  To get started go to [S-P] Pricing Defaults and then select [F7] Surge Pricing.  You can specify and Start and End Date for the surge.  This is great for if you are using this at the track and you want to set things up in advance to only be effective for a specific day or days.  Then you can specify a percentage to apply to each Price Level.  This can be an up or down percentage.  And then you can specify if the calculated price should be round up.  These are the System Level defaults.  You can then apply Product Line Code Overrides by going into [F8] Surge Pricing PLC Overrides.  This allows you to specify the same information for Surge Pricing at a PLC.  These setting will override the System Level settings.  Finally there is a report [F9] Print Surge Pricing Config.

  • Ability to Adjust a Receiving
What a fantastic new tool.  This is a high demand, high utility new feature to Orion.  With this tool you can adjust any receiving that has been made against and Purchase Order.  You can adjust the Quantity Received, the Cost Received at, the Date Received and the Document Received against.  This feature works for Open or Closed PO's.  These changes trickle through to Purchase History, Cost and Quantity.  There are multiple locations where you can select a Purchase Order Receiving to adjust the receiving.  [M-S-C] Receive a Purchase Order, [M-S-S] Closed PO Search / History, and [M-S-W] Open PO Listing.  On each of these forms you have the ability to select an "Adjust Receiving" option in the dashboard.  This will launch a open the Adjust PO Receiving form.  If the PO has been received against more than once then you will first be prompted to select a receiving to work on.  On this form you can adjust the Refence Number and Date Received for the receiving.  Then for each item received you can adjust the quantity received and the cost the item was received at.

Improvements to existing Features

  • Provide option to set Invoice Date during Batch Invoicing Process
Open Sales Orders can be batched as invoices via [M-G-I].  This process now prompts you for an Invoice Date to be applied to the selected Sales Orders.  This option is only available if the option Allow Editing of Document Dates is turned on via [S-F6-F3].

  • The Shipping Package Type Descriptions in Orion's Integrated Shipping System can now be modified
You can now specify a Display Name for the shipper provided Package Type descriptions.  This can make it easier to identify the package type that you want to specify for a shipment.  This option is part of Orion's optional Integrated Shipping System for UPS and FedEx and is accessed via [M-1-8].

  • Label On Use Tax Summary can now be adjusted
You now have the ability to change label on Use Tax label in summary block on Invoice, Sales Order and Quotes.  This can be useful to have the Use Tax summary line reference what your intended purpose is.  This is set via [S-F7-F4].

  • You can now optionally add a configured Use Tax
Now when a Use Tax item is configured via [S-U] you can specify options for how it is to be added when adding an item to a Sales Order or Quote.  You can specify that is always be added or if you are to be ASKED at the time of selection.
