Notes for Release 6.0.11.0

hpCommerce Orion Release Notes

Build 6.0.11.0

Released March 21, 2020

New Features and Functionality

  • Control Salesperson Assigned to a Sales Order
It is now possible to control who is assigned to a Sales Order based upon who is signed into hpCommerce Orion.  If you have Orion's security system turned on you can customize settings to control this feature.  Use [S-F6-F3] System Preferences > Security to set these settings.  Look for these options on this form:
    • Auto Assign Current Salesperson to New Orders? - set this option to YES to assign the currently signed in employee to an order.
    • Assign Salesperson Override Level? - set this option to a security level to control who can override the salesperson assigned to a order.  This comes into play if "Auto Assign Current Salesperson to New Orders" is set to YES.
    • Honor Default Salesperson Assigned to Customer - If "Auto Assign Current Salesperson to New Orders" is set to YES and this option is set to YES then the salesperson assigned to a customer on the Customer Management form [G] will be assigned.

Improvements to existing Features

  • Logging Updates for Automatic Services
The logging for automatic services like the Motor State Distributing automatic data updates has been enhanced.  Now the updates will provide more detail for each time they run.  They will also include an attached log file if necessary.  In the advent that there is an issue with an update the logging email can be forwarded to HP Technical Support for assistance.

  • Generic Stock Feed - New AAM Data Push feature added
Now you can set up a Generic Stock Feed that is in a format specified by AAM.  Generic Stock Feeds are set up via [S-5-F7] Generic Stock Feed Service.  By using this AAM option a file of data can be automatically pushed to a location specified by AAM.  For more information please contact your AAM representative for assistance.  For technical assistance on configuring this feature please contact HP Technical Support.

  • Generic Stock Feed - Instant Testing
You can now perform an instant test of a Generic Stock Feed set up.  This is great for making sure that all of your set up is exactly like you want.  Just use [F8] Test Stock Feed when you are editing a Generic Stock Feed Service Configuration [S-5-F7].

  • Order Status updates are now sent to Yellow Hat Web
If you have a Yellow Hat Web website changes to the status of an order are now sent to the website.  When a shopper signs into their website account they would see the status of an order.  Shipped status and tracking numbers have been previously available.  Now order cancellations will also be displayed too.

  • TaxJar Integration Update - It is now possible, per state, to control the sales tax exempt status of a customer
Users that are participating in multiple sales channels like Amazon, eBay and Yellow Hat Web can now configure individual states to handle the exempt status of customers as needed.

  • From Name can now be controlled on Email Templates
You can now specify a "From Name" for Email Templates.  The From Name is what displays as the "sender" when a person is looking at their list of emails in their inbox.  It allows you to specify a meaningful name that lets the recipient easily tell who the email is from.  Email Templates are a great way of professionalizing your emails for specific document types in Orion.  Check them out at [S-E] and watch this video HERE to learn more.

  • Ability to Override EPS Update flag added to eCommerce type Updates
On automatic updates like the Motor State Distributing eCommerce and SEMA Data Co-Op Import Service you can now specify if the EPS update flag on the Part Maintenance [L-L] form is to be overridden.  This flag is used to suppress updates of an item by automatic or data utility updates.
